The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

The8.5x11thing-01.png

April 8, 9, & 10, 2021

Congratulations to all of the cast and crew involved in our spring musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! It was a monumental task to build a stage out on the practice field, run electrics for lights and sound, practice in the afternoons in the Florida sun and heat, all while wearing masks, but we did it! Thank you to the over 700 patrons who attended our Covid safe show and supported our theatre arts program this year. We could not have managed such an amazing feat without your support and encouragement.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee was screened for awards consideration by the Broadway Star of the Future Awards Program through the Patel Conservatory and received the following nominations:

  • Zachary Gage - Outstanding Actor in a Musical - William Barfee

  • Liberty Mack - Outstanding Actress in a Musical - Olive Ostrovsky

  • Emma Van Dyke - Outstanding Actress Actress in Musical - Logainne Schwarzandgrubinierre

  • Kevin Pace - Outstanding Direction of a Musical

Regional Thespians 2020.jpeg

December 17 - 19, 2020

Congratulations to all of our students who participated in this year's Virtual Southwest Regional Festival. For many of our participants, this was the first time they've ever had to submit a theatrical event digitally and the process of preparing and recording these events on the stage the last few weeks was an exciting one.

Congratulations to the students in the Advanced Theatre III/IV Honors class for receiving an Excellent rating on their collaboratively devised, original one-act play, "Something More Than Canned Peaches." A lot of work went into writing and filming this 35 minute play and you and should be extremely proud of your piece.
